Damon K. Jones is a twenty year veteran of the Westchester County Department of Corrections. Mr. Jones has served thirteen of his twenty years as union delegate. Mr. Jones also served on the Contract Negotiation, Labor Management, and Welfare Fund Committees.

Mr. Jones is currently the President of the North East Region of the National Black Police Association (NBPA). Mr. Jones is the co-founder the  of Westchester Blacks in Law Enforcement for Community Uplift Inc., a chapter of the National Black Police Association (NBPA). Mr. Jones also serves as a National Board Member of the NBPA since his election in 2006 and Chair of the National Membership Committee. With Mr. Jones’ leadership, Westchester Blacks in Law in Enforcement for Community Uplift are strong advocates for Law Enforcement and community relations helping to spearhead the Norwood E. Jackson Scholarship Fund, Save Our Schools Mentoring Program, and how do you know your child’s in a Gang Seminar series.

Mr. Jones has been a recipient of the Grand Council of Guardians Organizational Award, The NBPA North East Region Leadership Award, New York State Assembly Certificate of Merit, and a NY City Council Citation, Mt. Vernon LOC Unsung Hero Award and Citation from the Westchester County Leglislators for his hard work and dedication in building a better relationship with Law Enforcement in the New York Metropolitan Area and the communities they serve.

Mr. Jones essays on Law Enforcement policies and procedures have been published in the local Journal News, New York Daily News, Westchester Guardian, Mt. Vernon Inquirer, Yonkers Tribune and other notable publications.


Mr. Jones has assisted in advising Governor Paterson’s NY State Police –on- Police Shooting Task Force on behalf of the National Black Police Association.

Mr. Jones also served on the ‘Gangs, Guns & Gainful Employment’ subcommittee of the New York State Democratic Conference – Operation S.N.U.G, Senator Ruth Hassle Thompson, Chairman


Mr. Jones has been a guess commentator on New York radio stations WBLS (107.5 fm), WLIB (1190 am) WRKS (98.7 fm),  WBAI (99.5 fm) and Westchester's WVOX (1460 am). Mr. Jones has appeared on local television broadcasts including Westchester News 12 “News Makers” and Public Television “Wynbrook Pride”
