The Westchester County jail moves over 10,000 inmates per year through its doors and has a current population around 1,300 inmates.
On a daily basis, correction officers face daily dangers. On any given day a Correction Officer can be seriously assaulted by an inmate. Even with health and safety precautions, correction officers are faced with exposure to diseases like AIDS, Staph infections like MRSA, H1N1 and Hepatitis. When that officer is unable to come to work, another is always there to cover his/her back and work overtime. Even with all these dangers those who manage to stay the course continue to uphold the creeds of their profession and stay extra hours when needed.
Its time hard working Correction Officers of COBA had a true voice. Someone that is not afraid to defend them by any means and tell their story.
Our story must be told with true unshakable leadership.
